VR Safety Training for Warehouse Operations

Immersive VR training program enabling warehouse teams to recognize hazards, apply safety procedures, and build lasting safe-workplace behavior through high-fidelity simulations.

Client & Project Overview

A large industrial organization engaged SiriusOne to transform their warehouse safety training. Traditional workshops and manuals were failing to create real behavioral change, and incident rates remained high. The client needed an interactive, repeatable, and measurable training experience that teaches employees how to identify hazards, use PPE correctly, and respond to dangerous situations without exposing them to real-world risk. SiriusOne delivered a VR solution that aligned with HSE, OSH, and NEBOSH standards while significantly improving engagement and knowledge retention across distributed warehouse teams.

Business Problem

Warehouses are among the highest-risk environments in industrial operations. Traditional training methods struggle to:

  • Recreate hazardous situations
  • Simulate real consequences
  • Maintain employee attention
  • Scale across multiple locations
  • Measure behavior and improvement

“Our objective was to build training that changes behavior — not just checks compliance. VR gives employees a realistic yet safe workspace where they can make mistakes, see the consequences, and become genuinely more aware.”

Solution Overview

SiriusOne delivered an immersive VR training module designed to teach hazard recognition and safe behavior through experiential learning.

PPE Identification & Correct Usage

Employees practice selecting and wearing appropriate safety gear. The system flags missing or incorrect PPE and explains associated risks.

Hazard Recognition in Realistic Warehouse Environments

Users identify blocked aisles, unstable loads, chemical spills, slip/trip hazards and blind spots. Each hazard includes narration and a simulated outcome to build situational awareness.

Machinery & Vehicle Safety Simulation

Forklift blind zones, pallet jack operation, safe-distance rules, and dynamic hazard zones.

Incident Consequence Simulation

Employees witness the results of unsafe actions — creating emotional impact and long-term behavioral change.

Analytics & Scoring Dashboard

Tracks errors, correct actions, reaction time, and recognition accuracy. Supports full LMS integration.

Results

40–60% Higher Engagement

VR immersion significantly increases training completion and focus.

+26% Hazard Recognition Improvement

Teams identify risks more accurately during post-training assessments.

40% Faster Onboarding

New hires learn safety procedures faster and more effectively.

Reduced On-Site Violations

Field audits showed fewer repeated safety breaches after VR rollout.
